Watercolour Group

This year the Watercolour group met at ‘The Old Vicarage’ in Halam for their August outdoor painting session. The beautiful garden normally opens as part of the ‘National Garden Scheme’ during the summer but private parties are welcome. Whilst the day started off very wet, the rain did disappear and we had bright sunshine for the rest of the day. The event was well attended by 13 members who enjoyed painting the beautiful vistas, shady nooks and views over adjacent fields. Our thanks to Patrick our tutor, who organised the visit.

During the summer several of our members entered the Byron Festival Art Competition, we are pleased to confirm that Margaret Crooks came first and Sue Tongue was runner up.

Vicky Moss achieved a first, a second and a third with her entries into the Beauvale Horticultural Society Art Competition at the Bank Holiday.

Congratulations to all of those who entered.
