Flower Arranging Group

Our October theme was big blousy Autumn or miniature. As always, our ladies excelled with their interpretations as they hadn’t had a demonstration to follow.

An example of September’s arrangement using sticks and gutter mesh was a follow me arrangement.

New members are always welcome.

Flower Arranging – Urgent Update

The John Godber Centre has had to cancel the Flower Arranging booking on the 6th February 2023 for the Beer Festival to go ahead. The Beer Festival is a real money spinner for the centre so it is understandable. Sorry for the short notice.

If you were going to come to the session as your first time can you please contact Siobhan, either by email or the contact form below, as she is trying to find an alternative venue but it is short notice.

    Flower Arranging

December’s Flower Arranging Group met at Siobhan’s home to have a fun filled afternoon creating Christmas arrangements and eating birthday cake and cup cakes. A variety of arrangements were made ranging from door wreaths to table arrangements. It was a bit like where you see how many people you can fit in a mini but, as always with this group, everyone went home with a smile on their face and lovely items to grace their homes for the Christmas holidays.

The next meeting is February 6th, 2023 at the John Godber Centre 1.30 – 3.30 pm when the title is recycle and reuse. There are still spaces for new members.

The Flower Group is coming on in leaps and bounds. Everyone is enjoying taking home lovely creations and learning new skills. Best of all, we have fun!

    Flower Arranging

The first meeting of the Flower Arranging Group got off to a great start, with plenty of people turning up to make it viable. A demonstration was given on a spiral arrangement, which everyone either did their interpretation of or went freestyle. The arrangements everyone produced were lovely.

Another demonstration was given using tulips and cordilines/phormiums for members to have a go at the next meeting on 7th March.

Everyone went home happy with their creations and knowing that the only proviso of the group is that they have created something they are proud of and enjoyed themselves whist they were doing it.

Next meeting 7th March. The demonstration will be Easter themed to do in April.

    Thank you Siobhan
