Weekenders’ Group

We like to organise a Lunch, a Social Evening, an Outing and a Coffee Club get together each month, plus any other events we might be interested in.

This group is now full but if anyone is interested in a Weekenders Too! Group, please let the Groups’ Co-ordinator, Siobhan Lee, know when between us we could start a second group.

November started off with a Bus Pass Day Out to Southwell Minster Craft Fayre on the 2nd but the outing to Derby Craft Market at The Roundhouse on the 9th was unsuccessful as the floods caused diversions and traffic jams, which meant by the time we arrived the queue stretched all round the building and we would have been standing in the cold for an hour, so our driver kindly dropped us off at the INTU Eagle Shopping Centre (which suited many of us) and which proved to be far more impressive than the Nottingham City Centre shops.

On 16th November we had a “Winter Warmer” Social Evening at Sandra Green’s home, with jacket potatoes & cheese plus hot apple pie and custard. This was followed by a very funny “Would I Lie To You” session, which proved how good some of us were at telling a tale or two! We had a lunch at Keycraft Garden Centre, Hucknall, on 22nd November and on 26th November we had a “Broomhlll Birthday” lunch for June Flint. Our Coffee Club on 30th November hosted a Craft stall for doing a bit of pre-Christmas shopping.

We are all looking forward to our trip to the Blue Diamond Garden Centre/Retail outlet on 6th December and our Christmas lunch on 10th December. We shall end the year with Coffee Club & 2020 Programme Planning on 28th December. Time flies when you’re having fun!!

Places are limited for all events; in fact, many are full already, so group members please contact Sandra Green, on the form below, if you wish to have your names put down for events in October to December. Please note that places for outings must be paid for before the event. Many thanks.
