Weekenders' February Programme

The January Coffee Club was on the 9th when we planned our programme of events for the next four months. A copy of the programme is on the Hucknall U3A website. Our first event was lunch on January 16th at one of our favourite local restaurants, Arunothai just off Farley’s Lane. We are always made very welcome there; in fact the Manager greets me as “Madam Green” when I ring to book, without me having to say who I am!
We plan a Social Evening on Saturday, 6th February at Lindsay Smith’s home with a Royalty theme, as the date is the anniversary of the Queen’s accession to the throne. There will be Royalty Bingo, a Royalty Quiz and Red, White & Blue Buffet (that will take some thinking about!).
Our February lunch will be at Encounters in Nottingham on the 13th and we look forward to yet another splendid meal as we have eaten there a few times before also. We also look forward to hearing the Linby & Hucknall Brass Band at St. Peter & St. Paul’s on 20th February. We hope to visit a Garden Centre the next day (21st) but have yet to decide which one. Any recommendations? Finally for February will be our Coffee Club on 27th when the discussion will be “Did you ever make a New Year Resolution that was successful?”.
All events organised by either the Lunch Group or the Weekenders Group are open to all U3A members, regardless of whether they are regulars or not. Obviously space is sometimes limited so it’s first come, first served.
