Short Walks Christmas Dinner Walk

On Thursday 17th it was the ‘Christmas Dinner’ Walk.
After meeting in the car park of The Admiral Rodney in Wollaton village 20 members enjoyed a pleasant 4mile stroll around the leafy suburb of Wollaton before entering the park where we completed a circuit taking in the lake, the Orangery and the imposing building of the hall itself.

The deer were out in force and there was a general concern that they could be distracted by some of the Christmas jumpers worn, it should be said, with great elegance by some sartorially gifted members.

After the walk it was time for a Christmas lunch in the friendly pub where we received good service and were made very welcome whilst we enjoyed our meal.
Planned Walks
January 21st – A walk starting from The Nags Head in Woodborough
February 18th – A walk from The Griffins Head Papplewick
Future Walks
Liz Edwards and Barbara Broomhead have kindly offered to take over the coordination of the short walks group. It is very helpful if members can support them by volunteering to suggest and lead one or two walks during the year. The walks should be approximately 4.5 to 5miles long and finish with an optional pub meal.
Please email Helen with any offers or talk to us on the January walk.
