History was indeed made when for the first time three U3A lady members joined the group for a visit to the BBC centre in Nottingham.
Led by Brooke from Radio Nottingham we visited the Radio studio and watched as Verity Cowley broadcast her Drivetime show, before going behind the scenes to watch East Midlands Today programme going out live. This was followed by a question and answer session led by Anna Church, who was the weather forecaster for the programme. Finally, a visit was made to the production room before we were presented with our Goodie Bag before heading back to Hucknall on the tram.
A big thank you goes to Vaughan Gallagher who arranged the visit but was rewarded by meeting his all time favourite sports reporter, Natalie Jackson within minutes of arriving!!!
