November's Short Walk and Christmas Lunch Arrangements

On Thursday 19th, on a dry but overcast day 25 members completed a rather muddy 4 mile walk from the Horse and Groom Moorgreen.
The route took us to the village of Newthorpe before following a path towards Watnall and the Gilt Brook.
Due to the underfoot conditions the route was modified slightly as the area around the Gilt Brook was a rather wet and soft underfoot, this proved to be irresistible to for one lady (name protected to avoid embarrassment! ) who inadvertently took a surprise mud bath. Fortunately rescue was at hand from two sprightly gentlemen and no harm was done.
We then walked on to Greasley Church before leaving via the path to the main road and back to the start.
A pleasant lunch was taken at The Horse and Groom where we enjoyed good service and food from helpful, friendly staff.

Venue and car park : The Admiral Rodney Wollaton Meet 9.45 to 10am
A walk around Wollaton Park and the lake before lunch at 12.30pm.
The deposits for the lunch have now been paid. If you are not yet signed up for the Christmas Meal it may be possible to be added as a late entry. However this is not guaranteed but contact David on the form below if you wish to join us.
