Lunch Group July-September

The Lunch Group meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 12 noon (unless otherwise stated) at a different restaurant each month. The menus vary in price and content but hopefully average out over the year at a reasonable cost. It is an opportunity for members to meet together socially and try out different restaurants which, as individuals, they may not have had the chance to try before. We always have a quiz which is usually related to the venue or its theme. We hope you will find something of interest to your “taste” and look forward to meeting up with you each month.
June 22nd saw twenty of us at Sprinters on High Street, Arnold, which is part of the Stadium Leisure chain of pubs. This was the old snooker hall in Arnold and is still in the process of being extended but when finished it will be a very large venue. We had an excellent meal and many of us plan to return for shopping in Arnold (much more choice than Hucknall) and a handy lunch. The “Partners” quiz was won by Beryl Poxon and Joan Cook.
The next three lunches will be as follows:
On July 27th – 281 Mansfield Road, Mansfield – No deposit needed
On August 24th – The Waggon at Halam – No deposit needed
On September 28th – Broad Oak at Strelley (not yet confirmed)
Places are limited at some venues so make sure you get your name down as soon as possible. The menus are on the U3A website so if you have your name down please let me know your menu choices as soon as possible.
