Dominic Johnson is coming to the 21st of January meeting to give a talk called “What’s in a Name” which sounds as if it will be a very good presentation.
Any History Group member who would like to go on the visits in April to Richard lll; in May to Newark Castle and in June for the Nottingham Walk will need to put their names on the list as numbers need to be confirmed.
I have discovered that there is a workhouse ‘Weekend’ taking place a Ripon Workhouse Museum at the end of February. Although this is not a U3A event some of our members have been helping with transcribing workhouse records. Please contact me for more details at the ‘main meeting’ if you are interested.
