This month saw the first meeting of the new Wine Tasting Interest Group. Consisting of 10 members we meet in each other’s homes and enjoy the social occasion as much as the wine we are tasting. This month we tried 4 red wines of very varied tastes across an affordable price range all bought from local supermarkets.
All the wines being judged on 7 factors we decided that the most popular was an Italian Red called Sasso Poggio Toscana from the Tuscany region of Italy. It was a wine from 2008 – was 14% in alcoholic content and was recommended to be drunk with red meat, game or cheese. (Morrisons). The group recommends this to all those who enjoy a powerful red wine.
Our group is currently full with 10 members and a notice will be in the Newsletter should anyone drop out.
