Our Wine Tasting Group, including all our ‘reserve’ members, visited Eglantine Vineyard in Costock in September. Tony and Veronica Skuriat have been developing their vineyard for over 30 years now and they produce 5,000 bottles of wine a year. The visit started in the vineyard with a very informative talk about the vines themselves. We then went into the winery where Tony gave us a tour of all the machinery involved in the wine making/bottling process. We then sniffed and slurped 5 wines – rose, white, mead, cherry and ice wine. We had an excellent time and learned more about tasting wine than we had done in 2 years!! Everyone bought goodies to take home; we had plenty of room in the minibus!!
