Weekenders' Happenings

Our last Coffee Club session was on Saturday, 7th November when we updated our plans for November and December and told one or two anecdotes about the most embarrassing thing that had happened to us as individuals; this caused much laughter. Our visit to Chatsworth Farm Shop and Bakewell on 27th November was much enjoyed. A nice drive to the Farm Shop, followed by coffee and (expensive!) shopping and then on to Bakewell where we dined on fish and chips and did more Christmas shopping! Oh it is a hard life! Our “Farm” quiz was won by Angela Underwood and Marianne Simmons. Our next Coffee Club will be on 5th December when we will be attempting fancy napkin folding, especially for the family Christmas Lunch table. The January Coffee Club will be on the 9th which will be combined with programme planning, so get the ideas coming in. The Weekenders Christmas Lunch will be at The Countryman on Saturday, 12th December. We are getting very much Christmassed out!
All events organised by either the Lunch Group or the Weekenders Group are open to all U3A members, regardless of whether they are regulars or not. Obviously space is sometimes limited so it’s first come, first served.
