Short Walks – February

Short Walks Group February Walk
Twenty two of our group members braved the cold weather for our February walk to Creswell Crags.
Turning right from the Dukeries Garden Centre we walked the short distance to the Robin Hood way and then on to the Crags where we spent time exploring the caves where over the years many ancient artifacts have been found.
Rejoining Robin Hood Way we continued to the village of Holbeck and on to the village church, the burial place of the past Dukes of Portland. After a brief tour of the Churchyard we continued on to the main road and the Dukeries Garden Centre, where after seeing the length of the queue in the restaurant we dispersed to several lunch venues, some to the Greendale Oak at Cuckney and fourteen of us ended up at Fillet O Fish Restaurant in Forest Town where we all enjoyed a superb lunch.
A big thank you to all those who attended.
Our March walk is at Rufford Abbey lead by Margaret Crossley and
Nona Sheriston. I will send further information nearer the date and hope to see you all then.
