On 6th June,2015 thirty two members of Hucknall and District U3A, Mansfield and District U3A and Ashfield and District U3A set off from Nottingham train station for a 8 day holiday in Paris, on the River Seine and Normandy.
Excellent weather was in abundance throughout the holiday. All enjoyed wonderful meals on board Swiss Sapphire. Excursions included a coach tour of Paris; the picturesque town of Honfleur; Arromanches and the D.Day beaches of Normandy; a visit to Claude Monets garden; a viewing of the Bayeax tapestry. The group also paid a respectful visit to the Bayeax War Graves cemetery.
The on-board general knowledge quiz was won by 6 team members of Hucknall U3A.
The group was very ably looked after by Riviera staff members Tony and Alex.
Mrs D.White organised the whole trip magnificently.
