Real Ale Group

The Brewing Science and History Group, more commonly known as the Real Ale Group, has had a very active and enjoyable year, we have visited two Breweries to better understand the complexities of the brewing trade, we have attended a historical lecture on Old Nottingham Public Houses at Nottinghamshire Archives, we have had a film night at the Bentinck Club on Old Pubs & Past Culture.

We have attended both the Hucknall Beer Festival at the John Godber Centre and the Robin Hood Beer & Cider Festival at the Motorola in Nottingham.
Also, as expected, we have had many very pleasant evenings sampling the produce of many hostelries on our visits to Hucknall, Nottingham, Basford, Beeston & Mansfield.

Our present membership totals 26, comprising 14 men and 12 ladies, who enjoy each other’s company and have many enjoyable nights out together.

Currently planning our calendar for 2020 we are always looking for new ideas and would also welcome any new members.

Many thanks to all for taking an active part.
