Reading Group News

Seating space limits our group to ten members; this number also allows everyone enough time to participate in giving their opinions on books we have read. I understand there are five names on the waiting list for a second Reading Group. As soon as this number reaches eight or ten we will set up another group. We meet on the first Wednesday of each month. We choose one set book for us all to read each month and discuss. We then tell everyone what else we have read over the month and which books we can recommend.

We discussed Daphne Du Maurier’s “My Cousin Rachel” at the August meeting but September’s will be any novel set in a foreign country. We also attend talks put on by Hucknall Library with guest authors, which can be very enlightening. The Library also has a “Crime Café” on the second Tuesday of each month, with guest speakers as well as discussions.
