National Trust Visit in September

Wednesday 30 September sees our visit to Wightwick Manor and Moseley Old Hall, the date having been changed for administrative reasons from the original date announced at the last meeting. We will be leaving at 8.30am from Hucknall Leisure Centre and arriving around 10.30 am at Wightwick Manor when we will enjoy a guided private tour of the property. I recommend taking a packed lunch as the tea room won’t be able to accommodate the whole coach party in one sitting. We can sit in the gardens to eat packed lunches but covered space is limited in the event of bad weather. Wightwick Manor is famed for its original William Morris wallpapers.
At 2.30pm we will be going on to Moseley Old Hall which is around six miles away. This property’s claim to fame is that Charles II is reputed to have taken refuge there. Should you not be a member of the National Trust you can enjoy the group rate entry admission prices of £9.00 and £6.65 respectively. The cost of transport including driver’s tip is £10.00.
