At least 17 bags of litter have been collected by the group in January. One member identified an area where there is a particular problem with litter – the jitty running through the allotments between Beauvale Road and Garden Road, Hucknall. Consequently four members got together on a bright and sunny January day and cleared the area and the surrounding roads. Unfortunately some litter louts seem to take great pleasure in throwing their bottles, cans and used food receptacles etc over the hedges into the allotments making it impossible for us to collect. I won’t record what I think of these litter louts!
If anyone in Hucknall & District u3a is aware of an area which needs our attention please let me know and I will organise a group litter pick and of course if anyone wishes to join the group you will be made very welcome.
