The History Group always welcomes all U3A members especially new ones. Our indoor meeting place is Central Methodist Church: time 2pm – 4pm ish – on the 4th Wednesday of the month for this month only. The date to remember is the 22nd of February. The change is due to the Beer Festival at John Godber Centre. Meetings are now in the Church Room which has proved much better for those members who have hearing problems. We have had some problems with visual images and sound but with special thanks to our member Greg they seem to have been overcome.
The next meeting is February 22nd at Central when Bob Massey is coming to give a presentation about “The Robins”. The history of the Post Office and our postal services. Look forward to seeing you then.
Kathy and Sue will be at John Godber on February 15th to take your bookings for the visit to Bassetlaw Museum at Retford on April 19th where we will see the Pilgrims Gallery display. Leaving Hucknall Ogle Street at 11am – leave Retford at 4pm. Return to Hucknall 5pm ish. Cost is £10. There is no café at the museum but there is a Wetherspoons next door for food and drinks.
