Gardening Group News
Following the two visits in May our June destination will be found in Burton Joyce. On Tuesday 17th June we are to visit Woodpeckers where we will meet Lynn and Mark Carr who will be pleased to show us their 4 acres of mature woodland and formal gardens with spectacular views over the Trent Valley. Over 500 Rhododendrons and Azaleas, Rose Gardens and balustrade terrace for afternoon tea. There is also a glade with 200 year old cedars overlooking ponds, waterfalls and croquet lawn. Bog garden and sunken area below the ha-ha which was only created in 2009 and planted to tempt the eye onward towards the ancient well. Have I missed anything – its all here at 35 Lambley Lane , Burton Joyce. NG14 5BG. A spectacle such as this deserves a full turnout from Hucknall members as the Carrs are opening up exclusively for us that day. All welcome not just Garden Group members. Please book at the desk at our May U3A meeting. Admission is £3.50 or by contacting Alan 07940146542 or Janet 9383744
