Drama Group Update

I would like to congratulate all members of the U3A Drama group who took part in the short sketches at the Christmas social, I feel they were a great success and I hope all the audience enjoyed them.
Unfortunately due to holidays, illnesses and various other reasons only 5 of us were at the January meeting. We all agreed that rehearsing for the Christmas performance had given the group focus and hoped that possibly this year we could give some form of performance in the spring/summer. A few ideas were discussed and if any absent members have any views/ideas please bring them along to the February meeting.
The rest of the meeting was taken up reading Alan Bennett’s ‘Green Forms’. The five of us very much enjoyed getting to grips with his unique style of writing and was very pleased to be able to finish reading this one act play before the end of the session, enabling us to discover the outcome of the plot.
We currently have a regular group of 11 members, who meet at my home on the fourth Friday of the month, 10am – 12. This is a nice sized group, but we could accommodate a few new members, anyone interested would be very welcome. Our next meeting will be on Friday 27th February.
