Creative Writing Dates

The Creative Writing Group meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month, apart from August and December, at Titchfield Court, Orchard Street, Hucknall from 1 pm until 3 pm. The session starts with each member reading out their “homework” from the previous month (a piece of writing of around 500 words on a subject given by Janet Gibson, the Group Co-ordinator. Members then discuss the piece, giving constructive criticism and praise on each piece. After a break for refreshments, members are then give a ten minute exercise, again on a subject given by Janet, which are then read out again.
To cover the hire of the hall, members are asked to bring £10 to the first meeting in January and then this is “topped up” later in the year to cover the annual hire.

The “homework” for discussion at the January meeting is “How to you feel about Autumn?”. An extra short piece is to complete “The canal is ………….”. Also in January please bring a picture or photo of something which means something to you along with its explanation.
