Our August walk started in the lovely village of Litton in Derbyshire. It was advertised as a ‘Five Dales Walk’ and we walked through Tansley, Cressbrook, Water-Cum-Jolly, Miller’s and Tideswell Dales. Walking conditions were generally good apart from the steep descent into Tansley Dale (sorry everyone!). It was a really interesting walk with lots to see and beautiful landscapes. We negotiated 3 stone step stiles and I can report that we all got over them with ease (this time!). Our group’s skills can be quite impressive on occasions!! After 6.7 miles of strenuous exercise, a drink at The Red Lion Pub in Litton was most welcome. Thank you to John Tedstone for leading the walk.
On Monday, 17th September, our walk will be starting from Heage in Derbyshire.
