Pub Quiz and Lunch November

There was another good turnout for the U3A Pub Quiz on 10th November and happy birthday was sung to Alison Robbins whose birthday it was that day. For those who have not yet joined us, the format is that we arrive at the Nabb Inn between 12 noon and 12 15, order and pay for our drinks and lunch at the bar (but it is not necessary to have lunch but we can certainly recommend it for both quality and value for money). Then we get together in group of up to five people in a team. The subscription per person is 50p for which the team is given a quiz sheet. Just for a bit of extra fun we have a £1 raffle, which includes a bottle of wine (courtesy of the Nabb Inn), three other prizes and our Bumper Bag of goodies. (If you feel so inclined, please feel free to put a small item into the Bumper Bag to build up its value). We then have the Quiz, compèred by John Peters, after which we have our lunch and then John gives us the answers (after you have handed in your quiz sheet, of course!). There is a small prize for each member of the winning team, and also for the members of the teams coming second and third. We think this is a good format, especially having the Quiz in the daytime, as many people do not want to turn out at night-time, especially now that the winter nights are coming.
So why not join us on the second Monday of each month for a bit of fun and a bit of brain exercise? For December only we are meeting on Monday, 1st December instead of the 8th, as most of us will be at the U3A Christmas Social on 8th. The January Quiz will be on Monday, 13th as usual.
