Our September walk, planned and led by Roy Brown was a 6 mile circular starting from
Bartlewood Lodge in Ockbrook, near to Derby. The route took us through the village of Ockbrook, lots of fields, cows (!), past Hopwell Hall and Dale Abbey. The views were lovely and although we had a few light showers, 28 walkers had a very enjoyable day, which ended in the Bartlewood Lodge for a drink before heading home.
Thank you to Roy for providing us with a great walk.
As promised I did my homework and have discovered that Hopwell Hall used to be a residential secondary school. Sue Tedstone.
Our next walk is on: Monday 21st October – to Tissington
