Walking Group A – Long Walks
- The first Tuesday of every month
- Walks of between 7 and 9 miles
- Walks to be relatively local with an approximate traveling time of one hour to start point
- All walks to be moderate or easy
Walk Details
Walk details will be e-mailed to all interested members one week prior to the event. This will give times, walk start point, directions and a brief description of the walk. Members make their own way to the walk start point (usually a car park). Members requiring a lift and those able to offer lifts should contact the co-ordinator who will try to ensure that all members are accommodated. Passengers to share petrol costs with their driver. Start time from walk starting point is usually 10.00 and leaving time from Hucknall is usually 09.15 but may vary. Walk finish time is approximately 15.00. Most walks will include a pub or café stop at or towards the end of the route.
If adverse weather conditions or other reasons cause the proposed walk to be cancelled the group co-ordinator will contact you via email, a Whatsapp notification (we now have a Whatsapp group) or telephone call. It is important that you carry the co-ordinators mobile phone number and to ensure that they have yours.
Equipment
The walks are over all types of terrain and walkers should be prepared for stiles, rough ground and occasionally mud. As we walk throughout the year and weather conditions may deteriorate quickly walkers must be adequately equipped and well prepared.

- An ICE card (in case of emergency) should be carried at all times, either on your person or in your rucksack with a list of medications regularly taken.
If anyone has to leave the walk or is in difficulty they must inform the walk leader.
