A number of Artists went to paint at Riley’s Pond in Papplewick by kind permission of Leen Valley Angling, managers of the private pond.

A number of paintings by the Watercolour group have been put on display at Hucknall Library during November, the paintings show how skilled our artists are in the group.

On Monday 1st July a member of the group demonstrated using a cut up credit card to paint with. We were intrigued with the process and most of the group attempted to paint a picture in the same way, it was very successful. A few were displayed and Patrick, our tutor, was very impressed. I’m sure we shall be using this method a lot in the future.

This year we have been unable to arrange our usual August outside session in time. It has been suggested that instead we use our own gardens or photograph unusual buildings around Hucknall to paint.

We meet again on 2nd September 2024.

In November 2024 it has been arranged with the Hucknall Library to display some of the marvellous paintings produced by the group.

6th January, 3rd February, 3rd March, 7th April, 12th May, 9th June,7th July, No August meeting (will hopefully arrange an outdoor session) 1st September, 6th October, 3rd November.

The Hucknall watercolour group meets on the first Monday of the month except August and December, we meet at Titchfield court from 2.00-4.00pm

The group usually has an outdoor session in August, this year we went by kind permission to Beauvale Priory to paint different aspects of the priory ruins. It was a small group but they all produced work to be proud of.

We meet the first Monday of the month unless it is a bank holiday when it’s the second Monday.

The Venue is Titchfield court, Orchard Street, Hucknall 2 – 4pm

Our resident Artist Gwyneth Crooks demonstrates new techniques and is always on hand to assist and advise. After enquiring if places are available you would be welcome to visit and see if it is for you.
