In October we started and finished our walk at the IKEA car park.
We followed a footpath alongside the Giltbrook before passing through a tunnel into open countryside and onto footpaths leading to the Erewash Canal.
We followed the canal for a short distance to reach the approach to the Bennerley Viaduct.
On the viaduct we crossed from Derbyshire into Nottinghamshire as demonstrated by Sue and Barbara.
We then completed the circuit of 4.2 miles back to IKEA.
Next Month
The 19th November walk starts from The Hollybeck Garden Centre near Oxton.
The route is relativly flat and is mainly on farm tracks and footpaths.
The café is well worth a visit after the walk.
