The Easy Walkers and Strollers groups met at Langley Mill Canal Basin to walk together along the Erewash Canal in beautiful sunshine enhancing the Autumn colours.
Whilst the Strollers took the shorter route, the Easy Walkers continued along the canal to Shipley Lock.
We all met up at the New Horizon Church Coffee Shop, which is well worth a visit.
A smaller than usual group of Strollers took part in our walk around Burntstump Country Park.
We all made sure that our car registration number was entered at the pub as we were aware of the fine should it not be done!
Refreshments followed at Brooke Farm, one of the favourite U3A haunts!
Oldmoor Wood Strelley was the venue for our latest stroll to view the Bluebells and we were not disappointed, they were beautiful in the sunshine.
The wood is managed by the Woodland Trust and is well maintained and open to all. Coffee afterwards at the Mulberry Tree, a very busy coffee shop but well worth a visit.
A shorter but dry walk around Titchfield Park was the venue for the Stollers Group.
A point of interest were the well maintained Polish War Graves, which, those of us who had been at the last General Meeting heard that these are maintained by the War Graves Commission.
A leisurely coffee break in the very busy Park cafe ended our morning.
Heavy rain and dull skies forced us to abandon our planned walk at Papplewick and visit Brooke Farm for coffee instead.
