Weekenders

The Weekenders February Newsletter will be sent out on 1st February. Once again, many thanks to Margaret Whilde and Lindsay Smith for printing off copies for those members not on email and for delivering them on their morning walks.

We had to cancel the Broomhill Birthday lunch for myself and Doreen Newton due to increased Omicrom activity, along with any Weekenders activity in January. But we will have a Broomhill Birthday Lunch for Christine Wheatley on Friday, 11th February at 12 noon and a Coffee Club session on Saturday, 26th February at 11.30 am at The Nabb Inn (instead of at my house) when hopefully we can plan events for the next three months at least.

A big thankyou to Steve Lawrence for taking the lead on the January walk. This was a lovely 7 mile walk around Ravenshead and Newstead Abbey, in glorious sunny weather.

The February walk will be led by John Tedstone and Gary and Tina Holmes. It will be a City of Nottingham walk, starting from the Forest Tram stop. More details will be sent to the group on email.

Fun with Languages

This month in view of the rising Covid cases and having some vulnerable members of the group, we decided to Zoom meet. Sadly, not everyone made it on, but those who did all shared very well their Christmas events and their hopes and resolutions for the new year in French. Well done all!

We are very much hoping that the February meeting on Thursday 10th at 10.30 am in the John Godber Centre Byron suite will be an in-person one, but we will review this nearer the date and email all the group involved.

We are sad to be losing Carol and David Insley in the coming weeks as they are moving to new pastures. We wish them Bon Voyage and we shall miss them.

New members are welcome and we hope that 2022 improves for us all!

Best wishes,
Ann & Liz x
