History Group

The History Group always welcomes all U3A members, especially new ones. Our usual indoor meeting place is the Central Methodist Church: time 2pm – 4pm ish – on the third Wednesday of the month. Meetings are now in the Church Room which has proved much better for those members who have hearing problems. We have had some problems with visual images and sound but with help from Graham Daft of Central Methodist Church and special thanks to our member Greg Umney they seem to have been overcome.

Our November meeting was a visual and sound treat. Trevor Lee came providing us with images of entertainers, their voices and we used our voices to sing. Trevor called his talk “Radio Fun” and it was fun and linked in with the ‘100 years anniversary’ of the BBC.

Sorry, there is no meeting in December – it is too close to Christmas.

The next meeting is January 18th, 2023 at Central. More information next time.

Bye for now – Maureen
