The Weekenders’ November Newsletter was sent out on 28th October. Once again, many thanks to Margaret Whilde & Lindsay Smith for printing off copies for those members not on email and for delivering them on their morning walks.

We had Broomhill birthday lunches for Anita Lingard and Lindsay Smith. We had a lovely outing to Mercia Marina near Derby on 17th October. The end of October found the Coffee Club discussing “My Schooldays”.

We are planning an outing to Blue Diamond at East Bridgford in November and a Broomhill Birthday lunch for June Flint as well as our usual Coffee Club on 26th November, discussion topic yet to be decided.

We had Broomhill birthday lunches for Margaret White and Jean Green, followed by a social afternoon at Lindsay Smith’s home on 16th September.

We plan an outing to Mercia Marina near Derby on 17th October as well as two Broomhill Birthday lunches this month. We are also having two Coffee Club meet ups, due to having to cancel the September one. The end of October will find us discussing “My Schooldays”. Unfortunately, the Weekenders Group is full at present but I would be more than happy to help someone start up a second Weekenders.

The Weekenders’ September Newsletter was sent out on 27th August. Once again, many thanks to Margaret Whilde & Lindsay Smith for printing off copies for those members not on email and for delivering them on their morning walks.

Our outing was on 4th August to Boundary Mills at Rotherham, followed by an excellent lunch at Whitby’s Fish Restaurant. We then had a very successful Garden Meet up at Siobhan Lee’s home (many thanks to her) on the 18th August and our August Coffee Club on 27th had us discussing the current national financial situation but followed up with funny reminiscences about “the most embarrassing thing which happened to you”.

Some of us visited “The Arc” Cinema on 28th August to see an Andre Rieu concert. We made plans for a birthday lunch on 2nd September, a social afternoon at Lindsay Smith’s home on 16th September, discussed future possible outings and planned a Coffee Club session for 24th September.

We had a lovely day for our outing to Southwell where we started off at Reg Taylor’s Garden Centre, had lunch there, followed by a visit to Southwell Minster for their short lunchtime concert in the Minster itself, followed by some of us shopping and others just enjoying a coffee in the sunshine.

Our Coffee Club session for July 30th will have the topic “Places I have lived” which should be interesting.

We had a Jubilee Afternoon Tea at Morton’s Farm on 4th June. We also had a Broomhill Birthday lunch on 10th June for Janice White and had a Garden Meet up at Margaret White’s home on 23rd June, 2022.

At our Coffee Club session on 25th June we described the best holidays we had ever had!
