The Weekenders April Newsletter was sent out to its members at the end of March. Once again, many thanks to Margaret Whilde & Lindsay Smith for printing off copies for those members not on email and for delivering them on their morning walks. 

Thanks to Lindsay who hosted a very nice Social Lunch on 20^th March. 

We had a Broomhill Birthday Lunch on 22^nd March for Pam Farrell and Margaret Whilde which we all very much enjoyed. 

We had an outing to Dobbies Garden Centre & East Midlands Outlet on 29^th March and a Coffee Club get together on 25^th March when we finalised the programme for our April events.

We had a Broomhill Birthday Lunch for Christine Wheatley on 17^th February which our depleted group very much enjoyed. 

Plans are yet to be finalised for March events.

We had Broomhil Birthday Lunches for Sandra Green and Doreen Newton, which we all enjoyed. We had an excellent outing this month to Boundary Mills & Whitby’s Fish Restaurant on 16th January and a Social Film Afternoon (Mrs. Harris Goes To Paris) at Siobhan Lee’s on 20th January. Coffee Club met again on 29th January.

We are planning an outing on February 6th – we needed to book somewhere indoors so decided on Dobbies at Chesterfield. We have a Broomhill Birthday Lunch planned for Christine Wheatley on 17th February. Finally our Coffee Club will meet on Saturday, 26th February 2-4 pm at Sandra’s – topic suggestion – “My Favourite Valentine”- when hopefully members might spill the beans on old boyfriends!

Sadly, our Weekender Ruth Houldsworth, died on 30th November; her funeral & memorial service was held on 19th December which many of us attended; we shall miss her at our Broomhill Birthday lunches.

We had a lovely Christmas Lunch at The Broomhill on December 16th.

Members were welcomed to Coffee Club on 31st for all those who were not preparing for New Year’s Eve.

We didn’t have an outing this month as we were all so busy with other Christmas activities but we plan an outing to the January Sales and a Film Afternoon social in January; we also will be celebrating Birthday Lunches at The Broomhill for Sandra Green and Doreen Newton.

We had a Broomhill Birthday Lunch for June Flint on 25th November and we had a lovely outing to one of our favourite places, Blue Diamond at East Bridgford, on Monday, 21st November where we always enjoy the Singing Penguins and spending our Christmas cash!.

The end of November found the Coffee Club having an early mince pie or two on 26th November. We also plan a Broomhill Birthday Lunch for Ruth Houldsworth on 9th December and then back to Broomhill for our Christmas Lunch on 16th.

No December Coffee Club as it would fall on New Year’s Eve.
