Vegetarian Cookery

We have welcomed new members at our last meetings, and they have blended in well with this social and friendly group.

At the July meeting members watched 2 recipes being made, mini vegetable toads and vegetable cobbler. After they had been cooked, we enjoyed tasting them including Toblerone cookies with the tea and coffee.

Although we were reduced in number, owing to the date change, everything was eaten, in true U3A fashion! A huge thank you again for the help from members with serving out the plates of samples and also with the washing up, and for your tolerance with my mistakes!

There will be no meeting in August due to the Bank Holiday. Enjoy trying out your new recipes.

The next meeting will be on 23rd September.

There were fewer members at last month’s meeting due to holidays and prior commitments, but we all enjoyed a sociable time chatting and eating the cooked recipes.

A big thank you to those who helped, as my two beautiful assistants were both on holiday, I would have struggled without you! It all makes for a very friendly and sociable group.

Next meeting will be on Monday 22nd July at 10.30 am.

We still have a few spaces left in the group so if anyone would like to join us, please contact me.

March again had a good number attending and we all enjoyed tasting two savoury recipes. As it was near to Easter we also had mini egg cookies, very sweet and indulgent!

In April the meeting is on 22nd at 10.30 to 12.00 in the church hall for St Peter and St Paul’s on Ruffs Drive.  We have just 3 spaces left in the group, so if anyone wants to join us, you are very welcome, please contact me.

The meeting this month will be on Monday, 26th February, at 10.30 am , at St Peter and St Paul’s church hall on Ruffs Drive.

I have three delicious recipes for you to taste and then to try cooking them at home. We have a few spaces in the group so please contact me if you are interested.  The aim of the sessions is to give you an alternative menu, not to turn you into vegetarians!
