After the Christmas break, January’s meeting was well attended and members enjoyed tasting the recipes of the day. A big thank you to all those who helped in any way, with signing in to loading the oven to washing up. It was very much appreciated.

The next meeting will be on Monday 24th February, when three different recipes will be demonstrated and tasted.

At November’s meeting members tasted four different recipes it being the last session of the year.

The main recipe was a Parsnip nut roast, using five different nuts plus other ingredients. Then there was a Pesto tear and share bread tree, filo pastry bites and finally mincemeat cookies. Again, the session was well attended and thank you for helping with the tidying and washing up.

The next meeting will be on Monday 27th January, at 10.30 am at St Peter and St Paul’s Church Hall on Ruffs Drive.

Happy Christmas to you all.

October’s meeting saw the highest number of attendees that we have had, and all enjoyed tasting the recipes made. These were Parmesan shortbreads, ideal for a snack or a party, Mushroom, nut and Cranberry Jalousie, and chocolate biscuits. As usual there was nothing left at the end of the session and several members were keen to go home to try out the recipes.

I would like to say a big thank you to those who attended but also to those who helped with the clearing and the washing up! I hope you all enjoy trying out the recipes for yourself.

November’s meeting will be on Monday the 25th, at 10.30 am at St Peter and St Paul’s church Hall on Ruffs Drive. This will be the last meeting of the year and there will be a demonstration of a dish suitable for a Christmas Dinner.

The group is now full with over 40 members so we are not taking any new members at the moment.

At September’s meeting members again watched a demonstration of 2 different recipes.

The first was carrot and parsnip gratin, which can be used as a main dish or a side dish to accompany Christmas dinner. The next recipe was a useful nibble or snack/picnic fare – Cheese, honey and Thyme bites.

Although several members were on holiday or could not make this meeting, we had six new members who were made very welcome and introduced to the custom of eating what we baked!

We are now a full group as we have over forty on the books, but if anyone else is interested in joining I can make a waiting list.

October’s meeting will be on Monday the 28th, at 10.30 am at St Peter and St Paul’s Church Hall on Ruffs Drive.

September’s meeting will be on Monday the 23rd, at 10.30 am, when we will be making and tasting three more recipes.
