Mid-length Walking Group

On May 17th, twenty-five of us went to Gunthorpe Bridge for our first walk for 14 months.
We walked in three smaller groups, which gave us the chance to chat and abide by the covid rules! Our route was from Gunthorpe along the river path to Burton Joyce, returning via the wooded path (5 miles).

We had deliberately planned for a shorter walk than normal, to give time to have a picnic in the field by the river afterwards. However, at 12 o’clock the heavens opened, and we all got drowned; hail stones were even making a big splash on the river. So, the picnic was abandoned!
We’d had a lovely morning despite this. It was good to see ‘real’ people after all this time and everyone is looking forward to the next walk in June.

Mid-length Walking Group

We had a good Zoom Meeting on Monday; it’s always great to ‘see’ everyone’s faces. We can’t wait to see people in real life again but for now, this is the best we can do.

A big thank you to Greg and Angela for compiling and presenting a 15 question general knowledge quiz. It was very difficult but no-one else knows your score!! Congratulations to Chris West, this month’s winner; she impressed us all by scoring over 10!

It was good to hear where people had been walking and before you knew it the 40 minutes had gone. We don’t normally walk as a group in December but those present wanted to meet on Zoom again on December 21st.

I hope that you are all well and managing to get out for a few strolls.

Best Wishes
Sue
