Our meeting in October was well attended and we welcomed a new lady to join us. We revised some of Ma France to get us into the spirit of French after our work on Spanish.

Our next meeting will be on Thursday, 11th November at 10.30 am at the John Godber Centre in the Byron Suite.

Please come with relevant worksheets, pen/pencil, wearing a mask and with warm clothes as we will have ventilation. Some of you may find this OTT but the virus is still very much around and we need to protect each other please.

We will have a meal out on Tuesday 23rd November 6.30 pm at Bistro Pierre and by now Liz will have contacted those who are going to that.

Our meeting in November will continue and extend our Ma France adventures and we will work on some role play to build up conversational confidence.

Our first, in person, meeting since the start of Covid was a great success with 12 members attending. We missed those ill and on holiday and hope you can make the next one on Thursday, 14th October from 10.30 am until 12 noon in the John Godber Centre, Byron suite.

We had a fun revision quiz in French and our next meeting will be a combination of revision and continuing to advance. Please bring any old sheets of vocabulary etc with you, a pen/pencil and paper. If anyone needs top up sheets please let me know.

We are now down to two languages, French and Spanish, as this was what the group voted to do for the moment. I hope you are all keeping well and you can make the next meeting in October.

We enjoyed a lovely fine social evening in August; so great to see people ‘in the flesh’ as it were. This group has voted to go down to two languages at the moment, the choice being Spanish and French. If this means that you do not want to come to the group, can you please let me know in order to keep lists up to date. If new members wish to join, you are most welcome.

Our next meeting on Thursday, 9th September, 2021, will be at John Godber Centre at 10.30 am in the Byron suite. Please come in masks and do NOT come if you are unwell in any way please. Masks may be removed if you wish, when seated. We shall have a chat, role plays and begin French once more.

After meeting on Zoom for many months now, we managed a face to face meeting in a garden! And it was dry! Many were unable to come due to holidays and appointments and we missed seeing you. We shared ideas about the future of the group and hope to meet at JGC if permitted in September. We also did a jumbled words game in Spanish.

A social has been planned for 10th August chez Ann Murray and those in the group need to contact Liz to say if you can come and bring a drink/nibbles to share please.

After many months on Zoom it will be great to move on to proper meetings, if we are able to, obviously in a safe as possible way. I would also like to know if any existing members of the group want to opt out of it, and if anyone new wants to come and join us, you are welcome.

We had a month off in may so were pleased to see each other for our June Zoom. It had seemed a long time. A big thank you to Phil and to Sue and John for their great sketches in Spanish, which we all enjoyed. Well done for that. We were looking at Covid situations in Spanish.

It was so good to see Liz return too after her long illness.

The main thing we are lacking is more practice and conversation, so on 8th July we shall hope for good weather to meet in reality face to face!!!! This will be in Ann’s garden or the nearby playing field, depending on numbers. We will have a chat about our future plans. Please bring a chair and a drink. I will email out to the group again with my address.
