By the time you read this it should be 2023! I hope you have all enjoyed a healthy, peaceful, enjoyable Christmas time. In our group we managed a lovely meal out at Moda, after much perseveramce on Liz’s part as we had booked Bella Mia, then they went bust!!

Thank you Liz for all your support for the group, and thank you too to all members who turn up for our meetings. We shall continue with Spanish for a while, as everyone wants to know how our drama is going to work out!!

Our last meeting in December continued this story plus a Xmas crossword and some lovely nibbles we shared together. I hope to see you at our next meeting on Thursday 12th January at 10.30 at John Godber centre in the Byron Suite.

The Fun with Languages Group were practising Italian at the Christmas meal at Moda this month. A most enjoyable evening was enjoyed by all. Best wishes to those members who were unable to join us and thanks to Liz for arranging everything.

We had a lovely number of people this session which was great. Good to see so many after holidays or illness as we go into the Autumn.

We continued with our mystery story in Spanish and used vocabulary sheets to help. We started a wordsearch on the vocabulary used in the story and members are working to complete that for next session.

We will meet again in the John Godber Centre at 10.30 am till 12 noon on Thursday 10th November, 2022 and continue with two more episodes and checking the wordsearch answers. Hope to see you then.

Our September meeting went well and we discussed different verbs, uses and endings; also we began again our story on Youtube episodes 1 and 2 Mi Vida Loca. We shall continue with this next time plus a wordsearch using the vocabulary from the series to help us remember it!

Sadly we were very depleted in numbers as many were on holiday, and some have decided not to continue. We meet on Thursday 13th October 10.30 am in the Byron suite at the John Godber Centre, so hopefully all our travellers will have returned and had a great time.

As I type this, I feel very sad at the recent loss of our wonderful Queen Elizabeth. She was a wonderful Queen and a special lady of faith and service. She will be greatly missed.

Our June meeting was concentrating on ordering food and drink in a restaurant, and we did some brave role plays; the first time for our new members, so well done! We did a short quiz and a wordsearch on the subject too.

Our meeting on 14th July will be hosted at Liz Attenborough’s home and will be coffee, a quiz on Spain, then drinks and nibbles with a Spanish flavour. The cost will be £1-00 and you need to let us know please if you are coming and Liz will email out her address to you. If you wish to donate some thing, that would be nice. It may go on a little after 12 noon.

The meeting on 11th August will be cancelled and we shall resume at John Godber Centre on Thursday 8th September, 2022 at 10.30 am still continuing Spanish.
