Visits for the History Group next summer have been organised as follows:
April – Archaeology Museum – Nottingham University
May – Papplewick Hall
June – Rock Cemetery – Nottingham
More details about times and location will be available at a later date.
Our meeting this time was on the subject of a family Christmas. We had two talks about Santa Claus and Christmas presents, some lovely poems and a talk of decorations and Christmas trees, plus a lot of socialising and chatting over refreshments.
It has been a pleasure setting up all the meetings and Jane and I would like to say thank you to all members who have taken part or helped with the group this year whether to talk, organise trips, or make refreshments. Your help has been invaluable. The next meeting is in January when Jenny Page will come to talk to us about The Great War, but in the meantime all best wishes for 2013 from Maureen and Jane.
