In September, our group went on a visit to the Hanwell Wine Estate in Hickling Pastures, near Melton Mowbray.
Helenka, the vineyard owner gave us a very informative talk about the estate before we set off on a tour of the vineyard. We then returned to the tasting room, where we tasted six local wines.
The visit was enjoyed by us all, made special by Helenka, who is passionate about her job. She also runs craft workshops throughout the year and her café opens every Saturday; so we might return soon!!
