We like to organise a Lunch, a Social Evening, an Outing and a Coffee Club get together each month, plus any other events we might be interested in. Lunches are open to all U3A members but Social Evenings, Outings and Coffee Club are limited to existing Weekender members only because of space limitations.
So far this year we have enjoyed Birthday Lunches at The Broomhill for Sandra Green and Christine Wheatley, and plan more in March and April for Joyce Crane, Pauline North, Kay Burton and Jean Martin. We had a lovely Social Evening at the home of Ruth Houldsworth on 9th February and an outing to Denby Pottery on 16th February.
The March Weekenders Coffee Club much appreciated the flower arranging demonstration by Siobhan Lee who showed us how to make four arrangements from a cheap bunch of flowers from the supermarket and foliage from the garden or hedgerow. Another good use for the U3A mug!
We plan a Sunday lunch at Arunothai in March and also an outing to the Blue Diamond Garden/Retail Centre at East Bridgford.
