This is a joint group with Ashfield U3A, and may be extended to cover Sutton and Ravenshead U3As.
We have had a lunch outing to the Head of Steam on Huddersfield Station, a trip to Scarborough on the Scarborough Spa Express, and have also visited 3 heritage railways – the Midland Railway at Butterley; the Great Central Railway at Loughborough; and Barrow Hill Roundhouse at Staveley.
Proposals for 2012 include visits to Ecclesbourne Railway, Wirksworth; the Rail Fair at York in June; Peak Rail at Matlock; and the Great Central [Nottingham] at Ruddington.
We are always looking for interested new members and would welcome ideas for future meetings and outings.
